初秋时节，荷塘依旧绿意盎然，层层荷叶随风舒展，一个个饱满的莲蓬探出水面。9月14日，来自山东财经大学的12位外国留学生走进济南高新区遥墙街道杨史道口村太空莲种植基地，开展太空莲特色产业走读体验。来自俄罗斯、阿尔及利亚、也门、印度尼西亚、乌兹别克斯坦、孟加拉国等国家的留学生们走进田间地头，在阵阵荷香中感受黄河沿岸特色农业发展成果，领略黄河生态文化与现代农业风采。
In early autumn, the lotus ponds were still lush and green. On September 14. 12 international students from Shandong University of Finance and Economics visited a space lotus growing base in Yaoqiang, Jinan High-tech Zone. Coming from countries including Russia, Algeria, Yemen, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, they explored local agriculture along the Yellow River and experienced the charm of modern farming.

During the visit, the students toured the lotus ponds and learned about Yaoqiang’s natural environment, its tradition of lotus cultivation and the development of the local space lotus industry.
遥墙街道北依黄河、小清河穿境而过，河渠纵横、水系密布，自古就有种植莲藕、荷花的传统。近年来，当地依托良好的生态和水土资源，引进航天育种优质莲种“太空莲36号”，并在杨史道口村建设连片荷塘基地，首期种植面积近千亩。太空莲不仅具有观赏和食用价值，也为当地群众拓宽了增收渠道。荷花、鲜莲蓬、干莲子等均可形成稳定收益，依托连片荷塘还可进一步发展休闲采摘、乡村餐饮等农文旅业态，让一片荷塘既有“颜值”，也有“产值”。
Bordering the Yellow River and crossed by the Xiaoqing River, Yaoqiang has long had a tradition of growing lotus plants. In recent years, the area introduced the space-bred variety “Space Lotus No. 36” and developed nearly 1.000 mu of lotus ponds. The industry brings both scenic value and economic benefits through fresh lotus pods, dried seeds, picking experiences and rural tourism.
“太空莲”这个名字，也让不少留学生产生了浓厚兴趣。
The name “space lotus” also sparked great curiosity among the international students.
据介绍，“太空莲36号”的育种源头可追溯至1994年，442粒广昌白莲种子曾搭乘返回式卫星进行太空诱变培育。经过后续筛选培育，该品种花果周期较长，盛产期可从6月下旬持续至10月底，莲子果肉脆嫩多汁，既能鲜食，也具有良好的观赏价值。
“Space Lotus No. 36” can trace its origins back to 1994. when 442 lotus seeds were sent into space aboard a recoverable satellite for mutation breeding. After years of selection, the variety developed a long growing season, with fresh, crisp and juicy lotus seeds available from late June to late October.
一路走、一路看，留学生们不时举起手机记录眼前的荷塘景色。成片的荷叶、点缀其间的莲蓬，与远处的乡村风貌交织在一起，也让大家对济南高新区的另一面有了更直观的认识。
As they walked through the fields, the students took photos and videos of the lotus ponds. The green leaves, lotus pods and surrounding countryside offered them a different view of Jinan High-tech Zone.
在当地工作人员的带领下，留学生们分批下水，开始亲手采摘莲蓬。
With local guidance, the students entered the ponds in groups and tried picking lotus pods by hand.
第一次近距离走进荷塘，不少人既新鲜又兴奋。大家一边认真观察工作人员的动作，一边尝试寻找成熟的莲蓬，伸手采下后高高举起，互相展示自己的“劳动成果”。荷塘里不时传来笑声和欢呼声，原本稍显陌生的田间体验，很快变成了一场充满参与感和趣味性的互动活动。
For many of them, it was their first time stepping into a lotus pond. They watched carefully, searched for ripe pods and proudly showed off what they had picked. Laughter and cheers soon filled the pond, turning the farming experience into a lively and enjoyable activity.
采摘结束后，大家回到岸边，现场剥开刚刚采下的莲蓬，品尝新鲜莲子。刚剥出的莲子色泽鲜嫩，入口清甜脆爽。对于不少第一次吃新鲜莲子的外国留学生来说，这种从荷塘里“现摘现尝”的体验格外新鲜，也让大家对太空莲从种植到采收、再到食用的过程有了更直接的感受。
After the harvest, the students returned to the shore and tasted freshly picked lotus seeds. Sweet, crisp and tender, the seeds gave many of them their first “pick and taste” experience and a closer look at the full process from growing to harvesting and eating.
一片荷塘带来的，不只是眼前的风景和采摘乐趣。
The lotus ponds offer more than beautiful scenery and a fun picking experience.
对当地来说，这些莲蓬不仅是游客眼中的乡村风景，也是实实在在的农产品。鲜莲蓬上市后可以直接销售，莲子还可进一步加工成干莲子等产品，而依托连片荷塘开展采摘体验，也让农业生产与休闲旅游有了更多结合空间。随着太空莲种植规模和产业链不断完善，一池荷花正在延伸出更多富民增收的新场景。
For local farmers, lotus pods are also valuable agricultural products. Fresh pods can be sold directly, while lotus seeds can be processed into dried products. Picking activities and rural tourism are also creating new sources of income as the space lotus industry continues to grow.
除了太空莲，遥墙街道还依托黄河沿岸良好的水土条件，发展黄河大米、秋月梨、酸枣、菌菇等特色农产品，并注册“遥墙农谷”区域农产品公共品牌，持续推进特色农业标准化、品牌化发展。
Beyond space lotus, Yaoqiang also produces Yellow River rice, Qiuyue pears, wild jujubes, mushrooms and other specialty products. It has also developed the regional agricultural brand “Yaoqiang Agricultural Valley” to promote standardized and branded farming.
一项项特色农产品，正在成为遥墙乡村产业发展的重要组成部分，也让黄河沿岸的农业资源进一步转化为产业优势。
These specialty agricultural products are becoming an important part of Yaoqiang’s rural economy, turning local resources along the Yellow River into new industrial strengths.
对于参加活动的外国留学生而言，他们走过荷塘，听过“太空莲”的育种故事，也真正踩进水里，亲手采下莲蓬，再坐在岸边尝一尝刚刚剥出的莲子。从“听说”到“看见”，再到“亲手体验”，这种沉浸式的方式，让一个原本有些陌生的中国乡村产业，变得具体、可感。
For the international students, the visit went from hearing about space lotus to seeing it, picking it and tasting it themselves. The immersive experience made this part of China’s rural industry more vivid and tangible.
一池荷香，一次“藕”遇。从太空育种到黄河岸边，从一粒莲种到一片荷塘，再到一份实实在在的特色产业，让外国青年从“旁观者”变成“体验者”，他们通过脚步、镜头和味蕾，感受到了遥墙特色农业的发展活力，也看到了济南高新区乡村振兴更加真实、鲜活的一面。
From space breeding to the banks of the Yellow River, a single lotus seed has grown into a thriving local industry. Through walking, filming, picking and tasting, the young international visitors became active participants and experienced the vitality of Yaoqiang’s specialty agriculture and rural development in Jinan High-tech Zone.
